Hospitality Design and fitout specialists

Vision Shopfitters is a fitout contractor who consistently deliver projects with top quality craftsmanship, on time and on budget. We are professional shopfitters providing quality designs, project management, manufacturing, fitout and refurbishment for Restaurants, Hospitality, commercial and leisure sectors.

We have a strong creative team in which architects work alongside designers from the beginning of the design process. By doing so, we believe we can offer a professional service tailored to meet your individual needs.

The starting point will be understanding the brief, brand and then to produce concept designs for discussion. We then move onto layout designs, refine the interior and graphic designs.

Once the above is finalised we will put together a detailed design package that complies with legal, statutory and technical requirements and is consistent with the previously established concept.  The design will also need to comply with Planning, Building Control and CDM requirements.

Food, Restaurant Design & refurbishments

The pleasure of dining or snacking, can either be a great leisure experience, or a bitter disappointment. A variety of factors can affect a visitor’s satisfaction, from value for money, to the quality of food and service, through to the experiential joy of participating in the atmosphere of an inspiring environment.

Getting it right, in this competitive market of food and beverage, then maintaining the standards originally set, whilst remaining fresh and enticing to diners is a continual challenge.

Some diners are increasingly expecting new experiences and are prepared to experiment with new cuisines, whilst others have their favourites, but still expect a new or different “twist” to what they know and love. Regardless of diner’s preferences, the desire remains the same…to enjoy the experience.

Standout attraction, will be critical to the success of your offering and only a point of difference in the application of your brand identity, design of your shop front, through to inspiring interiors and offer, will achieve this.

The use of increased theatrical identity using scale and symbols that are easily recognisable at a distance will assist, in conjunction with great use of illumination that is less conventional, but still reflects the quality and values of your brand.

Menu boards should be integrated into the shopfront design, to reflect the brand identity, and be located at greeting points and/or entrances for ease of reference by diners.

Create clear views into the space, preferably with visual focal points on-route to a bold feature to the rear, to draw the eye, and make the offer as open and inviting as possible. Use this openness, to create striking seating zones, with quality finishes and lighting effects.

Ensure your interior works hard to be seen, making use of bold graphics (particularly to the rear), imaginative ceiling detailing, sculptured lighting effects, quirky features, use of colour, texture and quality finishes, unusual seating design and “appetite appeal” with great display of fresh and/or cooked product prominently positioned and visible from most angles.

Positioning “theatre kitchens” and preparation tables that bring interaction and life into dining spaces, will attract and engage with diners from the shopfront, through into the depth of the space, which is all important in retaining appeal and to gain an advantage.

Others items to consider for fit out.

Services & Back of House Services

Services should be carefully integrated into the design of an interior but not be seen. Surface mounted service outlets, sockets, conduit, cables and fixings, should be concealed, unless part of the concept.

Access to services above ceilings or within bulkheads or vertical risers, should be accessible (where required) with carefully designed detailing and selected manufacturers recessed flush fitted access panels. The coordination of supply/extract grilles, fire detectors, emergency lights, speakers and sprinklers etc, in conjunction with lighting layouts should be carefully considered within suspended ceilings for uniformity, appearance and layout.

Health & Safety

Aside from aesthetics, all designs should also take into account the practicalities of installation and compliance with current Health & Safety legislation, and their associated risks and methods. The durability and ongoing maintenance of materials and design detailing is also an important factor that makes a good design and great fit out.

Accessibility

The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 considerations should be incorporated at the early concept design stage of the process. This will ensure they are fully integrated, rather than an after-thought, as a result of later Building Regulation (Part M) or Planning Compliance at the detail design stage.

Fire Strategy and means of escape

Our Architect will provide a statement to demonstrate how the restaurant proposals comply with the Fire Safety Strategy of the building.

Water and Drainage

We draw up schematic layout and sections including water supply and drainage pipework layout. Toilets and staff catering area.
Details of method of grease treatments prior to entry into the drainage system. The grease interceptors shall comply with BSEN 1825- 1:2004 and BSEN 1825-2:2002
